Kidde, a fire extinguisher company, is recalling forty million fire extinguishers because they may not work. The recall covers 134 models that Kidde sold over more than 40 years. The models in question have either plastic handles or a push button. On some, the nozzle can become clogged and prevent the extinguisher from spraying.
On others, the nozzles can fly off and can harm people. There have been nearly 400 reports of extinguishers failing to work properly. Sixteen people reported injuries. Kidde will replace the recalled models at no cost. The company’s website has information about which extinguishers may not work and how to exchange them. Check out www.KIDDE.com.
