$500M Bible Museum Opens in D.C.

The Bible Museum, the largest privately funded and operated museum in Washington D.C. has opened. The Green family, which owns Hobby Lobby, built the $500 million museum and says the museum is meant to “inspire confidence in the absolute authority and reliability of the Bible.” Critics say the museum is based on two assumptions: first, that the Bible is true and historically accurate, and second, that the Bible is the most important book in the world. The museum’s director says the museum wants to be as fair and nonsectarian as possible. The building is within walking distance from the National Mall.
