Do you like doughnuts? How about burgers? Burger King has the holiday meal you are looking for! Recently, Burger King announced they will have a new burger, called the “SufganiKing.” This burger is a cross between a doughnut and a burger.
The burger will be a normal Whopper burger, but with doughnuts for buns, and a jelly filling instead of ketchup. Doughnuts are popular during Hanukkah because it is when Jewish people traditionally eat oily and fried foods.
This honors the single jug of oil that was only supposed to last one day, but burned for eight nights after the Jewish Maccabees defeated their Greek occupiers. The CEO of Israeli Burger King, Steve ben Shimol, is proud to end 2016 on a creative and festive note. The SufganiKing will be available December 25th through January 1st. So if you want to try this new Hanukkah treat, hurry up to the nearest Burger King!
