Alleged Political Interference from Russia

Since 2004, Russia has allegedly attempted to influence elections in 27 countries, including Canada and the United States. In 1984, Russia tried to prevent Ronald Reagan from winning a second term, and in 2016 and 2017, many Americans learned of Russian attempts to influence their election.

In recent years, Russia has ramped up its email and cell phone hacking efforts. They have also increased their smear campaign to get a particular candidate elected or to punish others they feel have attacked the Kremlin.
