On Wednesday, May 10th, Amazon announced their new building in Seattle, Washington will include a 47,000 square foot homeless shelter.

The building will provide 65 rooms to house over 200 homeless people every night. It will also have a resource center with over 40 people to help families obtain employment and permanent housing.

The company is partnering with “Mary’s Place,” a Seattle nonprofit organization that focuses on helping women, children and families in the community who are homeless.

The new “Mary’s Place Shelter” is scheduled to open in early 2020.
