The Department of Justice is being asked to provide evidence of President Trump’s claims that the Obama administration wiretapped his phones in Trump Towers during his campaign. Today, Monday, March 13th is the deadline set by the House Intelligence Committee to provide any evidence.
Last week, the committee chairman, Devin Nunes and ranking Democrat, Adam Schiff, sent a letter to acting deputy attorney general, Dana Boente, and FBI chief, James Comey.
So far, no evidence has been presented to support any of these claims. Former President Barack Obama and former director of national intelligence, James Clapper, have both denied the allegations.
In a statement, Adam Schiff said he believes they will know if there is any truth to these allegations by March 20th, if not sooner.
