Today, Thursday, May 18th, a speeding car struck pedestrians in New York City's Times Square. The driver was identified as 26-year-old Richard Rojas, who appeared to be either drunk or impaired.
Rojas was driving the wrong way up Seventh Avenue for 3 blocks hitting several people along the way and eventually crashing into 45th Street and Broadway where he was arrested. Rojas has a history of drunk driving and has been arrested twice before.
1 person was killed and at least 22 others were injured, 3 of which are in critical condition.
The incident is being investigated as an accident with no suspicion of terrorism.
