Georgia Election Headed to Runoff

Tom Price, a former House representative in Georgia, resigned to become Trump’s health and human services secretary.


On Tuesday, April 18th Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District held a special election to determine who will fill the available House seat.


Democrat Jon Ossoff received 48.1% of the vote. Had he received 50%, he would have won outright. Republican candidate Karen Handel won 19.8% of the vote. Now, Ossoff and Handel will face off in a runoff election on June 20th.
