Do you know any young deaf kids who enjoy art? Tell them to submit a cover art design for the Louisiana Deaf Education Alliance Summit. The Louisiana Deaf Education Alliance Summit is a conference where Nyle Dimarco and other leaders of the community will come together and discuss how to improve education and access for deaf people. Currently they are trying to bring LEADK into the state of Louisiana. So why not make art and contribute to a great cause? There is even a prize if you win.
Their theme is “GOT LANGUAGE?”. Any deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind or CODA students from 6th to 12th grade can compete. So go ahead and design a cover for their program book, which is 8.5” by 11”. You can use paint, photography, drawing, graphic design...anything that doesn’t have a copyright.
Here’s where you send it off:
4332 Rhoda Dr.
Baton Rouge, LA 70816
Submit this by Dec 15th.
You can also submit via email to DeafEd@deaffocus.org.
Make sure you send it by December 15th! The winner will be announced on January 8th. The winner will receive $50 and a t-shirt, plus their artwork will be featured on the program. We all want to spotlight #DeafTalent right? Show them what you got!
