Lyft Ditches the Glowstache

Have you seen the transportation app, Lyft, have drivers with bright pink glowing mustaches riding around in your town? Well, Lyft is “shaving the stache!”

In mid-November, the company unveiled a new item for drivers to show in the front of their cars, and it is unlike the glowstache.

The new device called “Amp” is pill-shaped, and displays colored lights with the company’s name. On the back, it can display signs and words, such as a greeting for the passenger. Take a look

The new device aims to provide an easier experience for riders to catch their rides, in busy traffic areas. Drivers will also be notified what color to look for in their driver’s window.

Fortune Magazine suggests that the Amp could be helpful for deaf and hard of hearing drivers to communicate with passengers with greetings and colored signals.

Do you think it was smart for Lyft to ditch the stache?
