On Friday, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, one man named Charlie K wanted to take advantage of great deals by shopping for presents for his son. Suddenly, he had an idea and went over to his local Toys R Us store. He asked about orders currently on layaway. Many shoppers place deposits on items and later pick them up and pay for them. There were a total of 8,000 toys being held on layaway which cost over $10,000. Charlie K paid them all off.
Not only that, he also donated an additional $2,000 worth of toys to Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots is an organization run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to kids whose parents can’t afford them on Christmas. He stated, “I’m trying to bring some happiness to people, to the community that brought happiness to me and my family. I love this community and I’m trying to give back to it.”
