Hurricane Irma is negatively affecting millions of lives, but one millionaire has decided to affect the lives of local foster children in a positive way.
In southern Florida, 70 foster children were waiting in an emergency shelter for about 5 days before Irma hit the area. When returning back to their foster home, there was no power and they were told they couldn’t stay inside for safety reasons.
Marc Bell, who is on the board of directors for this program, decided to invite those 70 children to stay in his mansion in Boca Raton until their community center is repaired. The children are now being treated to manicures, game rooms, a library and more. Bell also created a GoFundMe campaign to assist in repairs to the foster home, as well as donations to support the children in the program.
