On Saturday, August 5th, at around 5am, an explosive went off in the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Worshipers were gathered for morning prayer when the windows started shattering.
The F.B.I. is currently looking for suspects and are trying to determine if this was a hate crime. Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton called it an act of terrorism. The Muslim American Society of Minnesota is offering a $24,000 reward for information that would lead to the person responsible for this attack.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated they fully support the rights of all people to freely and safely worship the faith of their choice, and that they vigorously condemn such attacks on any religious institution.
