Monopoly Retires the Thimble Token

Which token would you chose when playing the game Monopoly? I have some upsetting news.

Since 1935, the thimble token has been a part of the Monopoly game. That token is being retired, and will no longer be one of the tokens players can choose from.

Currently, gaming company, Hasbro, is casting a worldwide vote where fans of the game are allowed to pick which tokens they think should be a part of the set.

Fans can pick out eight of their favorite tokens to become a part the new line up. However, the change will not be effective until August. Later this summer, games will be sold featuring the fan-chosen pieces. Among the options are a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a penguin, and a selection of emojis. How modern!

Are you sad about the change? Cast your vote at!
