A church basement in New Paltz, New York is home to numerous helpful neighbors who run the “Repair Café.” So, what is the purpose of these get-togethers? Well, it is pretty simple.

Neighbors who want to help their fix things from appliances to sweaters. And get this- all of the repairs are free.

In 2009, the first Repair Café opened in Amsterdam. Later, cafes opened in Romania, Ghana, India, and the United States. Now Repair Cafes exist in 29 different countries.
