Officer Charged in Shooting Death

A Minnesota police officer who fatally shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and two felony counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm.

News of Castile's July 6th killing spread like wildfire after his fiancée live-streamed the aftermath of the shooting by officer Jeronimo Yanez.

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi announced Wednesday morning, November 16th, that he determined that the use of deadly force was not justified, which led to the filing of the criminal charges.
