According to a U.S. Labor Department report, there was a record number 6.2 million job openings in June.
This has been the highest number of jobs America has seen since December, 2000. Employers are ready to hire people, and they are likely to pay higher wages to new employees. Job openings in construction and manufacturing have boosted. There is an increase of jobs in healthcare, financial services and government-related jobs.
The report also showed that layoffs are now rare. About 1 in 100 employees get laid off every month. This is big news for President Trump, since this was one of his goals during his presidency: bringing jobs back to the people.
