SCOTUS to Hear Gerrymandering Case

The Supreme Court will soon consider gerrymandering. That is the practice of the political party in power drawing voting districts that favor themselves. A court in Wisconsin concluded that Republicans drew maps favoring themselves, which violated citizens’ constitutional rights to equal protection. Republicans are divided on the subject.

Some, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, former governor of California, want to see the practice stopped and signed a legal brief saying it has “politicians choosing their voters rather than voters electing their politicians.”
