Yesterday, at Freeman High School, which is near Spokane, Washington, a student was shot and killed in a school shooting. Three others were hurt, but expected to survive.
The shooter was eventually taken down by police. He is still alive and in custody at the Spokane County juvenile jail. Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich called the deceased student “very courageous,” because the student was trying to stop the shooter before he was killed.
The high school had just practiced their lockdown protocol the day before, because they received warnings about potential threats. The school cancelled classes today to recover from this tragedy. Detectives are interviewing hundreds of students to help with their investigation.
