In the Tampa Bay area of Florida, there have been four random killings since October 9th and they all seem to be connected. Residents have been nervous for weeks knowing there is a possible serial killer in the area. In some hopeful news, the Tampa Bay Police Chief announced they have caught the killer. The suspect, who is a 24-year-old man named Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, was arrested. He will be charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
Police received a tip yesterday from one of Donaldson’s co-workers at a McDonald's. The co-worker was asked by Howell to hold a bag. Inside the bag, she found a loaded semiautomatic gun. The co-worker reported it to her manager who contacted the police.
After investigating, police found that Howell’s phone records revealed he was in the area when all the shootings occurred. It’s possible some of his clothes matched what the killer was wearing on surveillance videos. Further lab testing is needed for stronger evidence. The chief of police thanked those who sent in thousands of tips that helped lead to the killer’s capture.
