Trump Nominates Alex M. Azar II
Favorite

Tom Price was the former secretary of the Health and Human Services Department. He resigned in September over allegations he was using charter jets at the expense of taxpayers. Today, President Trump announced he is nominating Alex M. Azar II to be the next secretary of the Health and Human Services Department. If confirmed by the Senate, he will be replacing Tom Price.

Azar previously served as general counsel and deputy secretary under President George W. Bush. From 2007 until now, he has been working for the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly. President Trump has been wanting to crack down on drug companies overcharging in the U.S. With Azar's experience, he could play a key role in accomplishing this.
