Favorite

Today, Tuesday, April 18th, United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Theresa May announced that instead of a general election in 2020, a general election will take place on June 8th, 2017.

May’s decision was made to “guarantee certainty and stability for the years ahead” as they prepare negotiations regarding Brexit.

Parties opposing an early election stated that they will not block this action. A vote to confirm May’s decision will be held in Parliament on Wednesday, April 19th.
