Update on Amtrak Crash
Favorite

Yesterday, an Amtrak train with 14 sections derailed near Tacoma, Washington. Parts of the train spilled over a bridge onto a busy interstate. At least three people died and more than 100 others had to be taken to a nearby hospital. Not all of the train has been searched yet because it is still not safe. The police think there are more dead bodies inside those sections.

The train cars are being slowly removed and hauled away by cranes and trucks. So far, an investigation has shown that the train was going at 80 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone. Also, the technology called Positive Train Control (PTC) could have been used to stop the train immediately, but was not used. It is not clear what caused the accident: fast speed or bad infrastructure. President Trump commented by saying the situation is the reason why we must start fixing the infrastructure of the United States.
