Today, the van driver that hit people in Barcelona and escaped last week was shot dead by Spanish police. He was found in Subirats, 28 miles west of Barcelona.
The driver was a 22-year old Moroccan-born man who was wearing what looked to be an explosive belt when he was killed by police. He is accused of being the final member of the Spanish extremist cell behind the attack last week that killed 15 people in Cambrils and Barcelona.
Spanish police seem confident that he is the driver and also have evidence that at least one attack was planned. They found that the three vans that were involved in the attack were rented under his credit card. They also have identified all 12 suspected terrorists that are either arrested or dead.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for both attacks.
