U.S. Accuses Syria of having a Crematory

The United States is accusing the Syrian government of using a crematory to conceal mass murders taking place at the Sednaya military prison complex outside Damascus.

Over the last 7 years, more than 400,000 people are believed to have been executed during the Syrian civil war. The Trump administration believes Syria is incinerating the bodies to destroy evidence that could be used to prosecute war crimes.

Currently, Russia supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. But Stuart Jones, acting assistant secretary for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, is asking Russia to use their influence to put a stop to Assad’s actions.
