U.S. Alone in Refusing Paris Accord

There were three countries that backed out of the Paris Accord earlier this year. The United States, Nicaragua, and Syria. Earlier this month,  Nicaragua signed the agreement. And now, Syria announced they would also join almost 200 other countries in signing the Paris Accord.

This means that the United States is the only country in the world to refuse the climate change agreement. The agreement focuses on reducing carbon emissions exuded by each country. The goal is for countries to work together in an effort to fight global warming. The United States backed out of the agreement because we were spending too much money compared to other countries.
