Your Data Can Now be Published

Do you like to shop online? Have you ever noticed that product advertisements seem to follow your every move on the internet? Advertisers already receive a lot of our information, and it does not look like that is ending any time soon.

On Monday, April 3rd, President Trump signed a Congressional resolution which makes it possible for internet service providers to use and sell information regarding customer’s online actions without permission from the customer.

While some advocates for internet privacy are not supportive of this move, others argue that companies will not publish customers personal and private information because they must keep addresses, credit card numbers, and social security numbers confidential. Right now it is being said that only private browser history can be sold.

Several large internet providers have released statements saying that they are in full support of protecting their customer’s privacy. How do you feel about President Trump’s decision?
